A minimum of four players are required for a private booking. We provide standard bookings of up to 20. For group bookings over 20 please email us at thearchertype@gmail.com to create a bespoke event to accommodate your needs.

The minimum age that we will allow to play is 10 and above. This is for dexterity and strength reasons along with being able to withstand the hits of the arrow. Under-18’s will need to be supervised by a parent/guardian and only those over the age of 18 can sign a waiver on their behalf. We have no limits on how senior players are!

We are open by bookings only, so all groups must book online on the to reserve their time slot. We don’t take same day bookings and walk-ins.

You can make a private booking for up to 20 people (50 for a Corporate event booking in a tournament format), of your own friends (or enemies!). Alternatively you can pop along to an open sessions where it will be a mixed groups of individuals keen to play Combat Archery, participants often become fast friends when dodging arrows!

Yes you can! We find that generally sessions for 4-14 work well for a 75 minute period. With sessions of 15+ we recommend booking a 2 hour session to ensure everyone gets more play time as we run a tournament format for games. Bookers are also welcome to increase their standard 75 minute session to a 2 hour session and your host will decide what games and structure would be best for your group dynamic.

At The Archertype and Outplayed – The Gameshow Experience, we understand that plans can change. To ensure fairness to all our guests and to allow our team to deliver the best possible experience, we have established the following rescheduling and cancellation policy for all bookings.

1. Free Rescheduling and Cancellation – 7 Days’ Notice

You may reschedule/cancel your event free of charge when you provide at least 7 days’ notice prior to the scheduled event start time.

2. Rescheduling or Cancellation Within 7 Days

If you need to reschedule your booking with less than 7 days’ notice, a 20% fee of the total booking cost will apply. Cancellation within 7 days will incur a 50% fee and the remainder can be refunded back to the booker.

3. Rescheduling or Cancellation Within 24 Hours

For any rescheduling or cancellation made within 24 hours of your event start time, the full 100% booking fee will apply.
This is because staffing, equipment, and venue arrangements will already have been allocated and prepared for your group.

Please try and find a replacement as soon as possible. If not please email us at thearchertype@gmail.com to notify us of changes to your group size otherwise the full outstanding balance for your group booking will be charged.

Discounted pricing for private groups / special offers and coupons are all only available for online bookings. Please email us at thearchertype@gmail.com to inform us of increasing your booking size. They will be charged at the pricing of the group size that you booked for. For any additional players that are added on the day of the session will be charged at RRP: £25 per person.

All our arrows are foam tipped ( like a big marshmallow) so impact feels like being hit with a beanbag , it's noticeable that you've been hit but it doesn't hurt like paintball or air soft! Archery Tag leaves no bruises from being struck by an arrow, and is known as a family friendly version of paintball that's competitive and fun!

Each session is 75 minutes long which includes a 10 minutes briefing/target practice with 60 minutes in the arena with a 5 minute break in between for rest/toilet break. Games are very quick and take no longer than 5 minutes.

Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear with grip to run in.

All equipment is provided by The Archertype. This includes combat bows, foam tipped arrows, face masks and arm guards. Just bring yourselves!

Absolutely! We encourage them to come in different costumes.

When celebrating such special occasions we offer a firing squad at the end of the session that will be organised by your host. Nominated shooting can be offered for those who need more support

We wouldn't recommend anybody who is pregnant play due to the nature of the sport of combat archery. It requires dynamic movement, dodging projectiles and manuevering around obstacles inside the arena so we wouldn't want to put any mother and child at risk. However we still very much welcome those who are pregnant to spectate on the side for their own as well as the child's health and safety.

Our minimum booking size is four people so we cannot allow bookings for just two people. We would advise finding some willing friends and family to shoot and play with! You can also join our open play sessions and join with other prospective archers. Minimum required amount of players for the session to go ahead is 4 players. In the event the session that the session does not have enough players, you will be reallocated to the next session.

We provide corporate bookings that provide high quality photos of your gameplay that can be booked for groups up to 20, 30 and 50. Stags/ Hens and Birthdays should book normal private sessions and they will be looked after well. We also provide a full experience package that combines our Combat Archery and Gameshow together which has a special price that saves 20% booking them together opposed to separately.

We Run an Immersive Gameshow concept for private bookings for 4 - 20 people called Outplayed. You’ll do three main games that combine trivia, puzzles/challenges and fastest player buzzer rounds. You can book this on our booking page or find out more information here.

We also love creating bespoke games for clients who want to celebrate/ enjoy a special and unique experience. In the past we have create Tribal Games (based on Survivor), Family Fortunes, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Deal or No Deal and Team Building away days. Our standard opening days are Thursday - Sunday as this represents the majority of our bookings. We understand that plans don’t always work around this so if you’re keen and have a group of at least 8 players +, get in touch at thearchertype@gmail.com and we will endeavour to accomodate you.
